Wishing you would... OOTD & NOTD

... drop everything now.

(loving Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift atm!)

I wore this outfit yesterday and thought it was cute :P

Love my new tights!!!

* Dress (covered in little white bunnies) from The Clothes Show Live
* Belt from Primark (I think?)
* Tights from Primark (£2! Bargain)
* Shoeboots from M&S

And a back view too!
(Sorry, its just too much cam-whoring XD)

Just thought I'd show the necklace I wore :)

N.B. This is a picture of my knees, NOT my bum!
(unlike what one miss Lindy thought :P )

And moving onto my nails - which I did not plan to go with my outfit, it just worked out that way...

Bring in O.P.I. Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry Collection!

Yay for the standard blurred glitter shots!!

Mmm, flash! Look how it sparkles ^^

Yeah, blurred flash just makes it look white because its so shiny and reflective!!

I'm wearing two coats of this polish and the pink base is still rather sheer.

You can see that there are two sizes of the holographic glitter in the polish, which makes it even more sparkly!

Full hand swatches!

Two coats of O.P.I. Matte Nail Envy as a base and then 17 Double Gloss Top Coat to seal it all in!

I loved the application of this and it dried without me really noticing that it was taking a long time - a good sign. The only think I can't comment on, is how well it removes from the nails. After a long washing-hair shower, I managed to peel and pick off the polish with great ease :P

And a sneak peak into what happened at the Illamasqua event last night!

I ended up travelling home on public transport (two tube lines and a bus!) with rainbow hair :P

Butterflies are so pretty... ♥

Love love and wishlove!!

Sponge Rose Nail Art NOTD

Wowzersss!!

I learnt how to edit my photos a bit :P

And I think this jazzles up my nail design just that little bit extra.

Here's how to create these roses!

Step 1: Paint your nails
Choose a pale or block colour as a base shade. White works rather well :) I'm using a sheer lilac shade which has an iridescent glitter look - O.P.I. Significant Other Color.

Step 2: First sponge
I've just cut up an ordinary dish washing sponge. Paint the end with a light block shade (sheer polish doesn't work well for this effect).

Step 3: Sponge the polish onto your nail
Lightly dab the sponge onto a specific area on your nail, where you want the flower to be placed.

Step 4: Repeat on all nails you wish for this colour
I recommend that you stick with the same colours for all your nails, as this doesn't look so busy. I was going to try different colours, but then I changed my mind which is why there are only three sponged nails shown.

Step 5: Second sponge
This piece is slightly smaller than the first. I've painted a darker shade of polish on this one for the centre of the flower.

Step 6: Sponge the polish onto your nail, again
Dab the sponge into the centre of the larger sponged area.

Step 7: Repeat on all nails
I feel this step does not really need an explaination :)

Step 8: Draw the petals
This is where the rose forms :) Start with a small circle in the centre, and then carry on adding rounded petals, as shown below.

Step 9: Repeat on all nails and seal with a top coat
Again, this doesn't really need an explaination...

And that's it!

The two colours I chose for the rose were coral and hot pink - this works well as they are from similar colour families. However, two different shades of the same colour (ie light blue and a darker blue) work well too. For a funkier look you can try colours that contrast like purple and yellow!

Hope you like this :)
Let me know if you try it!

Love love and roselove!!

The One That Got Away... NOTD

Toodle-oo!!

How're you doing there?

I currently have short nails because I went training this weekend and had to cut them in case of scratching people's eyes out, so it looks like I have kids hands again. But colour is the key!

Keeping it fun and using my one of my new polishes, I thought I'd give OPI The One That Got Away from the Katy Perry collection a try!

Here are my swatch pictures, with flash (below) and without (above). Please excuse my rubbish nail painting... it was dark :S

And here are some close up shots, with and without flash trying to show the tiny pieces of glitter!

With the flash on, the sparkles look blue iridescent, but to the naked eye, they look more like how they're pictured below.

Tiny little flecks of shimmer :)

I tried to do the standard glitter blurred shots, but because its so teeny, you can't see!

For a long-lasting manicure I always use:

* Matte Nail Envy (this can be changed to any Nail Envy according to your needs!)
* nail polish colour of your choice
* 17 Double Gloss Top Coat

And just because I thought my lips were looking a bit lush lately :P

I'm wearing MAC Viva Glam Lipstick in Cyndi :)
Delish!!

So here is a picture from my latest training session!

I also put up a new POTW video! Check it out below :)

Hope you enjoyed ^^

Love love and naillove!!
