Welcome to the Atomic-Botanical Wastelands

When I received another invite from Illamasqua, I jumped at the chance of seeing the latest offerings this fantastic make up artistry brand had to give!

I just adore the weird and wacky promo images (the above two taken from the film) and the decorated the lower gallery of The Air Gallery in a beautifully haunting way!

The tables/mushrooms were covered with enchanting butterflies, beetles and other crazy creatures, such as that bright pink dragon lizard that reminds me of the dinosaur in Jurassic Park - you know which one!

With pollution ever growing, what would happen if the world developed because of it?

I love how the collection was displayed for all of us bloggers to feel the products and the location was really bright and a great space to see everything.

The collection was actually split into two sections:
Swampy, beigey shades and the bright, acidic poisonous colours!

This was the first item I swatched and the one I vividly remember. Someone (can't quite remember who) came up to me and told me I had to try this!

It's a gorgeous anti-eyeliner and something I definitely want to get my hands on soon! It is the Precision Ink in Glister and with the different angles of light, it gives a different finish! It lasts really well and would be great to inject light to the eye, instead of the usual dark black heavy lines that squeeze my eyes into tiny things (which is why you'll rarely see me wear it!).

These are brand new products from Illamasqua called Cream Pigments. There are 6 in this collection and they're really fun to use in many different ways - eyeshadow (base or otherwise), corrective concealer, blusher, bronzer, lip colour, coloured mascara, temporary hair colour (just for streaks, I don't think you can do your whole head with it).

Then we come to another amazing creation - the Illamasqua Nail Varnishes (I love that they still call them varnish!). There are actually 5 colours in total, I just didn't realise one was missing when I snapped this shot :( From left to right, we have Gamma, Stagnate, Purity and Radium. The missing colour is Bacterium which is pretty much a liquid version of Hollow from the cream pigments, basically Glister... : Pearlescent Ash Ochre.

Illamasqua had a couple of lovely WAH Nails girls on hand to give us manicures with the new polishes. However, I didn't get a chance to get mine done :( Besides, I had glitter polish on and would've had to sit there for a good few minutes for the removal! I managed to grab some hand shots of two gorgeous girlies that did get theirs done!

Leanne from Do Not Refreeze (above) is supporting Gamma

And here is Zara from Just a bowl of Mouldy Fruit wearing Purity :)

Also, the lovely Candida from Hell Candy swatched the lip products and generously modelled for me! They are seriously this bright and have not been touched up! Amazing.

These are the lipsticks in Atomic and Flare :P

And these are the sheer lipglosses in Torture and Divine!

Ooh! Goodies!!!! I LOVE how they personalized everybody's goody bag! Makes me feel special :)

Mmm, two of the Cream Pigments I wanted! That's a WIN right there!

Gamma is something that will fit nicely in my collection! It may not be something I'd wear on its own, but I can't wait to do some nail art with it!

With the help of one Miss Milly from Pearls and Poodles, I rode the Tube (and one bus) home with Cream Pigments streaked through my fringe :P

They had streaked it through blonde hair, but I don't think anyone tried it on dark hair so I thought I should! It looks so awesome with how pigmented it showed up :P The PR girls were snapping pics of me, hehe!

There were two models being worked on by some great make up artists and although this is not the finished product, it still looks great! So friendly and talking about the products and how she used them, I learned a lot! So creative ^_^

Will you be picking up anything from the Illamasqua Toxic Nature collection??

Aussie asks you: How would you lighten up your life??

Hello, fellow bloggerinos!

I absolutely LOVE being an Aussie Angel!!

This week I got a surprise in the post from Uncover Aussie. A big white box arrived and my housemate read the label wrong and gave it to my other housemate! (Luckily, she re-read the label and passed it to me.)

I opened up the package, and out jumped a helium balloon!!!

Such a fun surprise :)

Attached to the balloon (and to stop it from flying away) was their Lusciously Light Luscious Long Conditioner!

Beautifully wrapped in purple plastic :P

Along with the giant purple ribbon bow that was on top of the box and the scroll telling me the next stage of the Aussie Angel mission.

I absolutely can't wait to try this conditioner!! I saw ads around on the London Underground for the new Lusciously Light range and got very excited! It's brilliant to see new products as soon as they're released. (Don't you just adore the cute little pink balloons?)

I had to undo the cap to untie the balloon, but also to sniff out this new product! The first thing I noticed was the yummy scent and then that the creamy formula was blue!!!

I'm sure it's because of the Blue Mountain Blend :P

I also have some news! Aussie are offering up 10 opportunities to join them this Spring by joining the angels on the Lusciously Light Journey! For your chance, all you have to do is answer the question below in a blog post on your own blog (then tweet @yummyhair with the link so they can find you)!

The question:
“Put a spring in your spring! Tell us, how would you lighten up your life? #AussieLight”

Winners will be chosen by Uncover Aussie (I have no say, sorry guys!) based on creativity and Aussie spirit so get your thinking cap on and you can incorporate videos, pictures, stories and even songs too!

The competition is open now and closes Midnight UK Time on Sunday 20th March 2011. Also, it's only open to UK & Ireland residents over the age of 18. Full T&Cs can be found here.

Good luck and I hope to see your entries!!

Have any of you tried something from the new Aussie Lusciously Light range yet??

Love love and lightlove!!

Haul: Gilly Hicks & MAC!

Did I? :P

Took a sneaky little trip to Westfield and made a few purchizzles. First up, I was very excited to visit Gilly Hicks. I first noticed this store when randomly walking past thinking it looked an awful lot like Hollister! Went inside and felt the materials. ZOMG. SO. SOFT.

When I was paying, the tills were flashing with:
Gilly Hicks
the cheeky cousin of
Abercrombie & Fitch

I thought that was really cute and so is the 'packaging'!

I love the design on the bag and the handles are awesome! This is the kind of bag I expect from an expensive/luxurious shop! Retailers, take note here. The bag is made with thick strong cardboard, not rippable paper. The handles are soft to hold and strongly attached. The print is also beautiful and I would definitely reuse this gorgeous thing!

Right, before I orgasm over the bag (LOL), let me show you what I bought!

These are Gilly Hicks Sweatpants.

When you click onto the Sweatpants section on the website, the description reads:
Gilly Hicks sweatpants are the perfect combination of soft and sexy. Every pair is designed with a cheeky butt fit, for the hottest look on campus.

I completely agree! When I was trying these on in the changing rooms, I did admire my derrière thinking it looked pretty good :P

This particular design is the Cheeky Butt Boot and I chose Navy as they can be worn with a lot of clothes. Not a big fan of grey.

Not really a big fan of clothing with numbers on that don't mean anything to me, but these sweatpants are literally the best ones I've ever owned. They beat my Jack Wills :O

And there was a 3 for £12 on the Down-Undies - super cute name! - so I grabbed a trio of the same style in different colours.

I believe these are in the style of Audrey (Shine Bloomer Bikini). They have a silk like feel and the print is just super pretty, don't ya think?!

The print has Gilly Hicks written in a beautiful font dotted around the fabric. I love the subtle branding!

After getting home, I unpacked the bag to find what I think is a wonderful marketing device.

Advertising in the bottom of the bag! Awesome :)

Just a few negatives about the store... it's hard to find things. The store is dark, just like Hollister, and the sales assistant that greats you does not offer you a torch. It's like they can't afford real lighting, even though you know it's dark mahogany furnishings cost a fortune! (Or look like they do...) And it's VERY warm in there. Are they trying to create an Australia atmosphere? Maybe it's so the girls aren't shivering in their very cute but skimpy (for UK) dresses. Or so that when you get changed/try things on (especially their underwear) you're not chilled? Suffice to say, it was a bit too hot for me. But then again, I am temperature sensitive...

On my way out of the shopping centre, I spotted MAC and decided I should go look at the Wonder Woman collection (again). The new Lady Gaga Viva Glam lippy and gloss was out, but I bypassed it as nude really isn't my shade and there was a slight crowd around that first promotional/collection table.

I spotted the Cremeblend Blushes and I just started swatching! I played with three and decided the others in the collection were just not my colour. The second one I touched instantly took me with the colour on my skintone. Hello new blush :)

This is Something Special. But it really is something special.

I mean, it's called "Something Special".

But the gorgeous peachy pink that suits my skin tone perfectly, really is something special!

Here is a swatch. Gorgeous!!!

The colour in this picture has not been edited. And a close-up.

It leaves a slight shine, however the cream does kind of dry to a powder finish, like most cream blushes. I am going to be using this for the next week, at least. Loves it!

And here are some pictures:

Thinking about chopping my hair to this length. It's a bit too long ATM!

Wake up it's a beautiful morning ^^

My daddy bought this in Hong Kong ages ago and only just put it in his car :P

Giant Hello Kitty in some toy store that I want in my room to cuddle forever!

Shared a Sugar & Cinnamon Pretzel from Mr. Pretzel

Saw this shirt in Topshop and wished I could buy every one of you one!

Red Velvet Cupcake from the Hummingbird Bakery. Delish! *licks lips*

Let me know what you think ^^

Love love and haullove!!

I wanna put on a tight skirt and flirt OOTD

with a stranger... :P

The other day, my housemate text me on her way home saying The Slug and Lettuce has a Monday special (50% off food) and we should go there for dinner.

So, with a quick change, brush of mascara and swipe of lipstick I documented my outfit :)

* Red Tank Top from H&M
* Long Black Cardigan from H&M
* Black "Figure-fit" Skirt also from H&M
* Red Butterfly Clasp Belt from New Look
* Black Tights from New Look

* Black Strappy Platform Heels from a store in Malaysia

I liked this shot, but it looked really boring in colour. I think the black and white effect makes me look more artistic :P

And because I would totally recommend the food, this is what I had:
OPEN CHICKEN PIE:
Chicken breast in a creamy smoked Applewood cheese & bacon sauce, in an open puff pastry pie, served with garden peas and chips.

Mmm... delish!

We actually ended up in a cocktail bar after we had eaten and had a jolly old time! What a fun and spontaneous Monday evening :)
