Tequila Sunrise Ombre NOTD

Step-by-step guide to these gorgeous ombre nails anyone?

You got it!!

Step 1: Prepare your tools!
You will need a sponge big enough to cover your thumbnail tip, as this is the widest nail. I just cut up a new dish sponge (you can buy a pack of 4 for 17p in Sainsbury's) and cut off the scourer part.

Step 2: Paint the base coat onto your nails.
This is two coats to get the colour completely opaque and I have a base coat underneath to prevent staining and to prime the nails.

Step 3: Paint the sponge.
(I actually painted the sponge the wrong way round - not a big deal, just made the sponging part a little more difficult) Paint the base colour at the tip of the sponge and the colour you want to fade it into directly underneath.

Step 4: Sponge the nail tips.
Gently press the sponge onto the tip of your nail and lift it back off. Quickly build up to desired colour and repeat on all nails. Repaint the sponge when necessary.

The sponge may make the polish look bobbly but this is normal.

The next step will fix this :)

Step 5: Apply a single layer of top coat.
This will even out the polish giving it a cleaner gradient look. You can stop here if you like.

Step 6: Apply art decals.
I chose pale art decals as I thought the contrast against the bright colours would show nicely. I only applied to two nails.

(Mind the rubbish nail in the centre... I accidently got a dent in it!)

Step 7: Apply another layer (or five) of top coat.
This will seal the art decal in and make the nail feel smooth :)

And that's it!

If you like to tell me maybe OOTD

... just go ahead now :)

* Baby Pink Bow Grip I made (might start selling these soon!)
* Navy Blue Lace Dress from Roshi
* Black Belt from New Look
* Nude Tights with Black Hearts from Primark
* Black Suede Ankle High Cowboy Boots from New Look

* Navy Blue Blazer from New Look

The day was so lovely when I shot these pictures!

I had a lot of fun and loved how they turned out :D

I wore minimal make up so it wouldn't take away from the outfit.

I also left my hair quite plain for the same reason.

The lace softens the darkness of the navy blue colour and makes the outfit look super feminine!

*Russian Doll Necklace from Accessorize

There were too many shots I loved so here are some more :P

Hope you liked it :) Would love to hear your feedback in the comments!

Glitter Gradnt Reverse Manicure NOTD

Well hello there foxy lady ;)

Today, I have got a step-by-step guide to these gorgeous gradient nails !

What I used:
* OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
* GOSH Magic Star
* OPI Mad As A Hatter
* Eyeko Cosmic Polish

*ELF Professional Blending Wedges
(you can just use a household sponge, like the ones you use for the dishes - I personally dislike using these sponges for anything else so I thought I'd use them for this!)

Step 1: Prepare your nails
Apply a base coat to natural nails

Step 2: Apply one thin layer of a small/light glitter polish
Basically that and then let dry :)

Step 3: Sponge time!
Grab your sponge and paint on some heavier glitter polish. If you prefer not to paint directly onto the sponge, you can put some polish onto a piece of paper and then dip the sponge into the polish before...

Step 4: Sponge glitter onto nails
Gently dab the sponge onto the nails and distribute the glitter polish evenly across the nail. Add more polish to the sponge (paint more on or dip again) to build up coverage.

Step 5: Leave to dry.
Because we are adding another layer after this is dried, it doesn't matter if the glitter does not reach the tips of the nails.

Step 6: Repeat step 3 with a black polish.
The only black polish I owned happened to have glitter in it, but you don't have to use a glitter black. Black cream polishes work well and look brilliant!

Step 7: Repeat step 4 with the black polish
Gently sponge the black polish onto the tips of the nails only and build up to desired coverage.

Step 8: Leave to dry/clean up
At this stage, I would grab a cotton pad with some nail polish remover and gently wipe away the excess polish that has collected on the sides of my nails on my skin.

Step 9: Apply a top coat
In the end, I applied two layers of top coat because I like the feeling of smoother nails, but one layer should be fine.

Less than 10 steps and you're done!

Here are a few extra pictures :)
Glitter close up!

And two standard blurred shots so you can see just how glittery it is!!!

Gotta love it, right?

If you'd rather see this tutorial in video mode, the wonderful Colette from My Simple Little Pleasures (who has a gorgeous set of nails and a very creative blog/YT) has done one!

Alternative Barbie French Manicure NOTD

Hi there :)

I'm currently at my parents house, and with me leaving half of my nail polishes here, I managed a cute pink French mani which has a barbie feel!

I've seen this style of French manicure by some other bloggers/youtubers and I think it's a great alternative to the standard straight across brush stroke.

The beautiful colours I used are OPI Shorts Story (from the Paige Denim collection) and Nails Inc In Style Candy (from an In Style magazine promotion).

The colours actually look rather different in the bottles! I would say my nail pictures are more true to life :)

What do you think??

I was a fool living in a dream OOTD

Hello :P

I meant to post this outfit a while ago, but I forgot :S

Please mind the patchy tan... LOL

I love this dress and this simple outfit!

* Red checked dress from Primark
* Black bow pleather belt from New Look
* Black checked socks from H&M
* White plimsoles from Primark

* Sunnies from Primark

* Red hair bow from Claire's Accessories

I especially love the adjustable straps on the back! I criss-cross them as I have a short body, but they can be worn straight aswell :) There are three button holes so the lengths can be adjusted too!

Blue Glittery Diagonal BEC NOTD

Hey all!

I entered a cheerleading competition with my team Bournemouth Elite Cheerleaders (BEC) a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the rules state that we are not allowed to wear nail polish. However, I feel our team did a great job for the time we had and we got a trophy! So still on a high, I created this nail look which incorporated two out of the three colours in our logo.

So this is my creation!

And obviously I've got some standard blurred shots :P

I used OPI Ski Teal We Drop, OPI Absolutely Alice and Inglot Nail Art Pen in white.

I think the flash doesn't help much :P

And this is my team :)
And if you're curious, this is a video that I shot of the screen playback after we just ran off the floor. So sorry that it's bad quality and shaky!

Love love and BEClove!!
