A Little Lush Haul ^_^

This was requested by a sweet friend of mine on Twitter (follow me here) about 10 minutes ago :D You can check out her blog (shortiee31), where she posts a lot more regularly than I do :P

I managed to nab myself these goodies from Lush. Some will be donated to friends who got me presents and the rest will be to make me (and my underwear draw) smell good ^^ I bought the two bottles of Snow Fairy and the Christmas Eve Bubble Bar, spending just a little over £20 which earned me a bag of Christmas Lush :D They are all currently hanging out in my room making it smell amazing!!!

So let's start off with the two giant 500g bottles of Snow Fairy! The Lush store (Guildford) that I went to had quite a few of these bad boys left! I absolutely LOVE this shower gel and I would purchase all year round if possible but I think I just might have enough to last me at least half of 2010!!

This is the Christmas Eve Bubble Bar. It definately smells like Christmas and even though I'm not such a big herb and spice fan, this smells amazing. One to go in my underwear draw :)

As the colour suggests, this is Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar. I got this in my Lush haul last year when they did the 'Grab Bag' offer. I really liked it then, although I'd never used Lush before. It turns the water pink and sparkly!

Candy Cane Bubble Bar does look like a candy cane, don't ya think?? Although its not as sweet as I'd like, it's one that I wanted to try! And bubble bar bubbles are worth it, even if the smell isn't!

This white fellow is a Mister Butterball Bath Ballistic. Following in the footsteps of the original Butterball, its the same product but in a different shape! Although a little more expensive, this snowman is much easier to break into smaller chunks so you don't have to use him all at once! (Another scent I'm not too fond of, but he does make your skin feel great!)

When I first heard about Cinders Bath Ballistic, I thought Cinderella and all the pantomimes that come out this year. Pantos are very Christmassy in England and reminds me of winter. (I have been in a few!!) Anyway, back to this explosive treat! It actually is supposed to resemble a burning fire. It has some little jewels of yellow, orange and red popping candy which makes a crackling sound when you drop it into water. (A big waste of popping candy, if you ask me! That stuff is awesome and tastes amazing :P) And the bomb itself is actually orange, but it seems to show up yellow on everyone's cameras!

This lilac monster (which I'd say is about double the size of Cinders) is Jingle Spells Bath Ballistic. It smells like cloves to me. It is encrusted with black and gold mini star sequins and looks really pretty :) This will be off to a friend of mine who has recently discovered that she loves purple!! I think it would be wise to try and use this one in at least its two halfs, because it is rather huge!

This guy is amazing! Satsumo Santa Bath Ballistic is a reincarnated version of last year's Santa but with more weight (too many Lil' Lush Puds if you ask me!) and a new fragance. He's all citrusy and he would make a few very nice refreshing and detoxing baths :D
I love the attention to detail they made with Santa so had to show you his sack and backside :P

Right, so just a quick little hair thing! Recently, I got a new hairdryer. More specifically, a Remington with a diffuser!! I tested it out last night for the first time. I can now safely say I love diffusers and will be trying out a lot of hair styles with this appliance. But for now, here's the basic look that came out. So I started with this:

And diffused it (from damp/wet) to this:(mind my PJs - present from my mother - and not a lot of face because of no makeup XD)It looks a bit wild there ^ but I assure you it dropped enough to look like a natural wave! Unfortunately, I slept on that hair quite soon after I dried it but this morning I woke up to toussled waves at the ends of my hair. Right now, it looks like its been flicked out with a straigtener, but I reckon with a small amount of curl holding product the soft waves would stay in :D So, tutorial coming soon!!

So, what was your favourite Christmas Lush product this year??

Love love and Lushlove!

Sunday Times - Edition #12

I haven't been very good with my blogging, have I? There hasn't been a weekly post for a while now, but I was going to do a little post on some things anyway.

Recently, I purchased a lipstick from a Twitter sale via DressJunkie. You can follow her here for future sales :D

Now this is what I call a 'famous' lipstick, especially in the eyes of a YouTuber. Its the beautiful YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in Lingerie Pink! The stunningly gorgeous gold-coloured container with the brand logo almost carved into a ring around the centre of the tube, coloured perfectly to match the exact shade of the lipstick. And the top of the lid has a little mirror which is perfect for on-the-go application! (Not that this will be leaving my house now ~ I'm way too scared of losing it XD) There is a slight scent and I'm not sure if I like it, but I don't think I'll be noticing it too much! The colour is fabulous and I know I'm going to feel super expensive every time I wear it!

Right. So onto the hairdryer. Remember this super old hairdryer that my mother was left with??
Well some Argos vouchers were acquired, so my father and I went down to Argos Extra today and picked up a new Remington one, complete with its own diffuser!! (Which I cannot wait to try out, but its currently sitting under our Christmas tree :P)
Argos ~ £19.56
Remington is a great brand for drying hair, I've found. And this one comes with the professional 3 heat settings, 3 speed settings (including turbo) and the cool button too! And does it look stylish!!! Haha how I love black appliances! They look so mature and sexy!

I am now back home in Guildford for the holidays, but its super cold outside and there is snow and ice everywhere! As I am coming down with some weird throat thing, I think I'll only be stepping out the house occasionally.

Being back home means I can have baths! Baths have never really been my thing, since I used to bath when I was little but I had very sensitive skin and the bubble bath potions you could buy would irritate me and so I had to just have water baths. That's why showers are much favoured by me now. Besides showers generally use less water, are quicker and much easier to wash your hair as you can rinse with clean water. But yes, baths are very luxurious and a nice warm bubble bath is a great way to relax! I often take Molly (my laptop) into the bathroom with me and put a show or some music on for something to do whilst sitting in the tub. (I don't read magazines really and I'm too scared of dropping books into the water!) But I had an amazing Lush bath on Friday night using the bubble bar 'The Comforter'.
I used about a quater of this huge bar, but at just under £4, this is quite expensive still. Luckily, I only take a bath about every 2 months. I will be taking advantage of having a bath while I am home, though!

With only the quater of the bar, the water turned a beautiful pink shade under a huge mountains of pure white snowy bubbles! I've heard the bubbles from this bar being described as 'creamy', but bubbles are made of soap and air and I really don't understand how that makes cream... maybe it's just my opinion, but they feel great anyway!! They also don't dissolve for over 30mins and they were still lurking when I got out the tub, after enjoying a funny episode of 'How I Met Your Mother' which I have grown to like :D

Lush's description: A warming, fruity, fluffy bath to bring you comfort. When the world seems too scary and your problems seem insurmountable, that's when you need The Comforter's warm, blackcurrant embrace. Take a long, soothing bath, have a good night's sleep, and when the day dawns, things won't seem quite so bad. Promise. (click here to go to Lush's site!)

For me, the best scents are the sweet ones. I did manage to get a couple of Lush's Christmas edition bubble bars for my housemate, and they do smell divine. But I don't think the Christmassy herbs and spices are something I want my bath to smell like.

What's your favourite bubble bath item??

Hello Blog Readers!!

How've you been?? Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been caught up in busy times with an essay and other things... and so there's been no Sunday/Monday times lately.

Right. So to start, the first thing I need to tell you guys about is my cousin's wedding!!!! It was a beautiful ceremony and I got to dress up!! Wooop ^^

My cousin and his beautiful bride :D

Me all dressed up!!

This cake was super lush!!! The icing was made of some kind of cream and it was amazing!

How intricate is the bride's hair?? I wish I could learn to do this!!!!

My new friend and I! :D

For my face I just used MAC mineralize blush to help make my skin glow and some neutral browns for eyeshadow and applied some false lashes to make my eyes pop ^^. I didn't want to do really colourful eyes because its the bride's special day, not mine!

Second thing is that now I may have a little free time on my hands, I'm going to try and make a couple of videos to put up soon! So watch out for them on my YouTube channel!!

Thirdly, I have not been shopping in AGES and will be getting a haul in for you sometime soon aswell because there are a few Christmassy things I would like to get myself! (Benefit Powderazzi and Lush's Snow Fairy)

Right, so that's all!! If there's anything else that's only a yule time tradition that you think I should try, let me know! :D

Love love and catch-uplove!

Monday Times - Edition #11

Hello lovely blog readers!!

I don't really have too much to update this week. But is this not the oldest retro hairdryer you've seen?? There is no switch on it, its teeny tiny and no brand name either! It still works though but the cable is falling out of the machine :(

This morning, we heard a knock at the door. Father and I thought it was mother forgetting her key or something, but it was DHL! A parcel for me, no less!! YAY!

Inside the package is this tin:

Inside the tin, a message on a card and some Arnott's TimTam Fingers!!!

Finally, I have TimTam(s) to do the TimTam slam! Haha :D

TimTams are kinda like penguins, so I've heard!

Oh yes, the message...

This is what it says:
Ling, Ling, Ling. You love Aussie, right? Of course you do - you're great. But since we know you're a beauty kind of girl,
(not a hairy one)
we want to know what Aussie really means to you. What's beyond the Mmmmm, the Aaaaah? What if Aussie were a look? What palette would it use? How would it be applied? Show us what an Aussie make-up artist would produce, ask your community to
do the same. Revel in your collective awesomeness, then tell us what you've made.
If we like, you could just get very lucky ;)

So, this is me asking you!! Get creative, and make a look for Aussie! It doesn't specify a video or blog so I'm sure either is fine :D Maybe take the Kangaroo as inspiration or even the beautiful purple colour ^^

So beauty-wise, I will be attending my cousins wedding dinner tonight and of course, taking pictures is a must! I shall blog about my look sometime this week :)

Hope everyone's great!
Love love and Mondaylove!!
