Bling it on!!

Can I just say...
BLING IT ON!!!

Doesn't this duo take your breath away? Just me? Oh, okay then.

But it does look amazing right? Yes. Yes, it does, Ling. Good :)

So after buying this gorgeous gold glitter polish from Butter London (West End Wonderland) for my housemate as part of her Christmas present, I decided that I needed it and started to hunt around for it.

(both Butter London images have been taken from Google)

But, I heard ASOS.com were having a sale and I wanted to check out the beauty section as always!

And I managed to find a similarity in an O.P.I. Nail Lacquer! It's called Bring on the Bling which is an awesome name!!! The packet reads: A gold glitter that's beyond dazzling.

I know this isn't a great picture, but it shows the amazing sparkly-ness of the glitter that will soon be on my nails! I actually haven't tested it out yet, but my housemate did and it looks awesome! Takes a couple of coats to get it opaque though! I might just use a gold polish underneath :)

And this is the 2 in 1 lip gloss that comes with it!
The packet reads: Rich color and radiant shine in one glossy tube.

I also picked up this set of 3 glitter Nails Inc polishes from ASOS.com!
Silver glitter is named Electric Avenue; pink glitter is Chelsea Square; and purple glitter is Park Lane.

Need to swatch these ASAP because they look LUSHHH!

And on another blingin' note, my mother, brother and sister-in-law think I look like the girl in the UK McDonald's Christmas menu ad...

What do you think??

This is the full video if you haven't seen it :P

Holiday Mani - Gold & Sparkles!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, beautiful Starlings!!!

Hope you are all doing well in this fine beginning. Unfortunately, my start hasn't been so good as I have been unwell with flu for the week between Christmas day and New Year's Eve!

I've wanted to post this just after xmas with my current NOTD, but then I got sick and have been lying in bed most of the time.
I used this gorgeous gold nail polish from myface.cosmetics.
The shade of the "Lil' Bling" is Gilt-y!
And yes, the polish looks as good on the nails as it does in the bottle. That's one thing that all nail polishes should do.

I then added some Gosh Rainbow and some Korean glitter polish that I got in Malaysia.
The sparkles don't actually show up all that much against the gold in real life, but I quite like that it's not so obvious.

It was pretty difficult trying to capture the glitter on camera too... both with and without flash, blurry and non-blurry :(

I've also started using Maybelline Super Stay 24H Foundation (in 021 Nude) and I have to say, I'm slightly disappointed. Even with the use of a brush for application, a dusting of Laneige Sliding Pact powder and a few spritzes of Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, I barely notice a difference to the longevity of the appearance of flawless skin between this and any other foundation I've worn before.

I have to say though, that the colour match is yet again a pretty perfect match for me.
I do like the formulation, the viscosity and the way this liquid foundation applies on my skin and feel it is a very good product. I think 24 hours is a BIG claim and that brands shouldn't be making these claims if they aren't true.

Also, the non-transfer claim isn't true either. I know that if I were to wear this foundation and wipe my mouth, even after powdering etc, I would get residue left on the tissue. So all in all a good foundation, but not necessarily worth the extra few pounds from Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid. I don't notice a difference at the end of the day, so why should I pay extra for the same thing?

If you've had a better experience (or not) with this foundation, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This is my latest video, if you haven't seen it yet :)
It's about the Aussie Take The Heat Event

That's all for now :)

Love love and naillove!!

It's a little bit funny...

this feeling inside :)

Gosh, I am LOVING Ellie Goulding's version of "Your Song"!

Anyway, as promised, here are the swatches of the Eyeko products!

Eyeko Liptastik Glossy Lip Pen in Loud Mouth (rosey-pink)
With flash above and without below!
I forgot to say that there is a slight strawberry scent to these products that makes it sniffibly yummy!!

Eyeko Cheeky Colour in My Coral Crush!
Both of these are without flash, but they are pretty true to life on my monitor. The two colours in the pan are rather similar but very pigmented that you really do not need much :)

Below is a macro shot just to show you the sheen it gives! It's not too obvious, and its NOT glittery. It's very glowy on the cheeks and just gives off a little iridescence.

So these are the swatches for Eyeko Fat Balm in Strawberry and Toffee.
Strawberry is so pretty on the lips, giving an added tint. In the pan(?) you can see that there is a shimmer to this shade but it doesn't show as anything other than a sheen. Gorgeous for everyday use!
Toffee is still my favourite and maybe I'm just biased because of the name, but the scent, the colour, the consistency is so great!
Did I forget to mention that these now contain SPF15? Brilliant!

Just a little NOTD and EOTD as I started playing with my blingin' cosmetics!

My housemate is a little bit obsessed with gold and so I leant her my Lil' Bling Nail Polish in Gilt-y and I saw it and it was amazing!!! It's so true to the bottle, apart from the streak lines (which I quite like at the moment), it's just like liquid metal in a nail polish!

On the left is Silver Screen and the right is Diamonds and Pearls.

A macro shot to show you the colour and how liquid metally it really looks! To be honest I much prefer the Silver Screen shade and am slightly disappointed with Diamonds and Pearls. However, I decided to give it a chance (since I'm wearing gold jewellery) on all my nails!

Above is without flash and below with. Flash is a bit crazy bright XD

So since this morning, I've added silver on top. It's now half Diamonds and Pearls and half Silver Screen, split diagonally down my nails.
I've realised the colours are quite similar on the nails!

Below are some pics of the Bling Tone eyeshadow I used this morning! I have Diamonds and Pearls from my crease to eyebrow, Gilt-y on my actual lid and then a couple of brown blended in the crease.

These photos really do not do the shimmery glitter eyeshadow any justice!
Below you can see a bit more shinies between my lashes :)

Blurry and without flash...

This is supposed to show my handy work... look at how much I messed up with the mascara this morning XD oops!

Went to Covent Garden last night!
It's a Rudolf!

Also, I don't normally just add in random press releases, but I feel this sends a lovely Christmas message to all :)

The Body Shop Joy To The World film features an eclectic mix of quintessential English characters singing lines from the well-loved carol in front of iconic London backdrops – whatever their music style, age or ability! From the cabbie giving Christmas cheer to passengers as he harmoniously serenades them along the bustling high-street of Oxford Street to opera singers singing a cappella on London’s most famous bridge, traditional choral groups, rappers and street performers all entertaining us with their interpretation on a Christmas classic. The talented and gorgeous, British singer-songwriter Leddra Chapman also makes a guest performance in this uplifting and feel-good festive montage, sharing the joyous message from The Body Shop with her captivating voice.

If you haven’t done all your Christmas shopping yet, The Body Shop also has 30% off all products online and in-stores until Sunday, including free delivery!

I believe this is only in the UK, sorry rest of the world!

New products to show off!!

Hello there! Thanks for reading and welcome to all!

I have some new products, (some I bought, some were given to me) to show you!

First up is this gorgeous nail polish which I was given by a Brazilian friend! Unfortunately, we can't buy this brand in the UK...

However, if you ever find yourself in Brazil, you can pick up this super cheap brand Impala (for about 50p each!) in most stores that sell cosmetics there :)

The colour I have on is called 'Le Rose' and is a very milky pinky-lilac shade! I have to say, it looks quite cute on my short rounded nails :)

So as I was running out of my Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation, I found myself getting a new one. I LOVE the shade match of this tone (Nude 021) but it seems slightly more ashy in the new bottle... I hope its the right shade still! Think I prefer the shape of the older bottle, but oh well! It still has the pump and hopefully the same formula!

After seeing adverts for this (and Maybelline was 3 for 2 - housemate got something too!), I thought I should try out the Superstay 24 Hour foundation. This has a BIG claim. And if the shade is the same as my Dream Satin Liquid, then possibly a new fave foundation? The fact that it stays put for 24 hours sounds great and that means no touch-ups and no worrying that your skin is becoming uncovered throughout the day! Especially if you don't have the time to check/fix your face every few hours. I will be trying this out very soon :)

Now, you may have seen that Eyeko has brought out a lot of new launches and re-launches lately! Here are a few things I'm loving from their current range!

This is one of the Eyeko cult products - Eyeko Fat Balm. This is a tinted lip balm and cheek tint in one handy stick that fits easily into a pocket or bag! Don't you love the cute little box it comes in?

There's 6 shades to choose from which all have their own little symbol too! The one I'm showing you is Toffee, the perfect peachy-nude colour that sits great on the cheeks (I am slightly biased towards the name of this shade... but you know how I am about names)! I've also tried it under my blush, which is great as it helps to keep the colour there for longer! It's not too sticky either and the other 5 shades are Frosting, Cherry, Raspberry, Strawberry and Minty!

Speaking of cheeks and blusher, Eyeko has brought out a trilogy set called Cheeky Colour! My favourite out of the three is My Coral Crush, which is a gorgeous peachy-pink toned duo mineral baked powder.

(The other little item in there is Eyeko's Liptastik Glossy Lip Pen in Loud Mouth which is a sweet rose pink. It's just like a lipstick but in a pencil shape which is super easy to glide onto lips and creates the perfect pout!)

This shade doesn't actually have a big contrast between the two shades in the pan, and I sweep my brush over both to mix before applying. I tried to get a good picture of the two shades but this was the best I could do! Maybe I should give you guys a swatch or two... (These should be in my next post!)

As you can see, the pan lifts up and underneath you get a brush which is horrible quality and will not be used except in dire circumstances. The bristles feel cheap and scratchy!

Underneath the pan, there is a little mirror which is great for on-the-go use if you're running late or need a touch-up. I really like the quality of the blush, and this definitely counteracts the horrible brush that comes with it and so many other great eyeshadows and blushes!

Can you see a running theme here for the new Eyeko products? Grey packaging!! I'm not a big fan of grey, but the darker the grey the better. I can live with these and I like that they're not too striking to pull out of your bag. It also does bring a more mature feel to the products, but still cute and not just gimmicky as I know there is great quality to the formulae inside!

If you do want to get these products from www.eyeko.com don't forget that when you spend over £15, 12 Euros or $20 you can receive a free gift with your purchase by entering the code E2034 into the Ambassador code box at the check out! x

*$* Lil' Ling's House of Bling!! *$*

Hello there my fly (like a G6!) friends!
Fun fact of the day: I owned a blog that was titled the same as this blog post. It was a personal blog that my friends could read after I left school and went to college. It had no followers, but two great regular readers!

I thought I better introduce you to some lovely products that I received yesterday!

Oh, this shot doesn't look as blurred on a smaller screen...
We're blingin' in the new year with myface.cosmetics!

Three sparkly party palette trios to bling up the new year!

This is the set I'm most excited about. I'm very into gold for wearing as I feel it suits my skin tone much better :)
Names can make or break a product, and with these trio's each shade's name is so cute!!!
The gold set is Gilt-y, silver is Silver Screen and the shimmery white is Diamonds & Pearls!

'Lil' Bling' Nail Polishes :) - They're huge btw! Bigger than Nails Inc and Model's Own!
Haha, this reminds me when I thought it was weird for me to say my own name and so I wouldn't pronounce it properly :P People would ask me what my name is and I'd have to say "Ling, like bling without the 'b'!" A few people did call me 'bling', but I didn't mind :)

How are you liking my photography skillz??
These 'One Hit Wonder' lip glosses look amazing. I squeezed them all last night, but the silver one especially was really hard! I hope its the cold weather to blame, and not my weak hands!

Swatchelasss - from Top to Bottom:
Diamonds & Pearls
Silver Screen
Gilt-y

And then I mixed them together! Haha, I couldn't resist dabbing a little of this concoction onto my lips, but I actually really liked it! It was quite sheer as I only used a teeny bit, but I could see different shimmers and glitters and it looked sparklyyy!

These are the 'Bling Tone' eye shadows, which may find their way to my cheeks at some point!

And here are my little attempts at FOTD:

Pretty much used the same products as yesterday.
Well, I mean, I did use the same. I just jigged the eyeshadow around a bit.

Browns blended from light to dark on eyelid and then the same Electric Blue 22 Barry M Dazzle Dust on the lower lash line. Surprisingly, this was the only place that still looked blue when I got home yesterday!

Got any ideas of how I can use my new blingin' products??

Love love and blinglove!!
