Sunday Times - Edition #12

I haven't been very good with my blogging, have I? There hasn't been a weekly post for a while now, but I was going to do a little post on some things anyway.

Recently, I purchased a lipstick from a Twitter sale via DressJunkie. You can follow her here for future sales :D

Now this is what I call a 'famous' lipstick, especially in the eyes of a YouTuber. Its the beautiful YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in Lingerie Pink! The stunningly gorgeous gold-coloured container with the brand logo almost carved into a ring around the centre of the tube, coloured perfectly to match the exact shade of the lipstick. And the top of the lid has a little mirror which is perfect for on-the-go application! (Not that this will be leaving my house now ~ I'm way too scared of losing it XD) There is a slight scent and I'm not sure if I like it, but I don't think I'll be noticing it too much! The colour is fabulous and I know I'm going to feel super expensive every time I wear it!

Right. So onto the hairdryer. Remember this super old hairdryer that my mother was left with??
Well some Argos vouchers were acquired, so my father and I went down to Argos Extra today and picked up a new Remington one, complete with its own diffuser!! (Which I cannot wait to try out, but its currently sitting under our Christmas tree :P)
Argos ~ £19.56
Remington is a great brand for drying hair, I've found. And this one comes with the professional 3 heat settings, 3 speed settings (including turbo) and the cool button too! And does it look stylish!!! Haha how I love black appliances! They look so mature and sexy!

I am now back home in Guildford for the holidays, but its super cold outside and there is snow and ice everywhere! As I am coming down with some weird throat thing, I think I'll only be stepping out the house occasionally.

Being back home means I can have baths! Baths have never really been my thing, since I used to bath when I was little but I had very sensitive skin and the bubble bath potions you could buy would irritate me and so I had to just have water baths. That's why showers are much favoured by me now. Besides showers generally use less water, are quicker and much easier to wash your hair as you can rinse with clean water. But yes, baths are very luxurious and a nice warm bubble bath is a great way to relax! I often take Molly (my laptop) into the bathroom with me and put a show or some music on for something to do whilst sitting in the tub. (I don't read magazines really and I'm too scared of dropping books into the water!) But I had an amazing Lush bath on Friday night using the bubble bar 'The Comforter'.
I used about a quater of this huge bar, but at just under £4, this is quite expensive still. Luckily, I only take a bath about every 2 months. I will be taking advantage of having a bath while I am home, though!

With only the quater of the bar, the water turned a beautiful pink shade under a huge mountains of pure white snowy bubbles! I've heard the bubbles from this bar being described as 'creamy', but bubbles are made of soap and air and I really don't understand how that makes cream... maybe it's just my opinion, but they feel great anyway!! They also don't dissolve for over 30mins and they were still lurking when I got out the tub, after enjoying a funny episode of 'How I Met Your Mother' which I have grown to like :D

Lush's description: A warming, fruity, fluffy bath to bring you comfort. When the world seems too scary and your problems seem insurmountable, that's when you need The Comforter's warm, blackcurrant embrace. Take a long, soothing bath, have a good night's sleep, and when the day dawns, things won't seem quite so bad. Promise. (click here to go to Lush's site!)

For me, the best scents are the sweet ones. I did manage to get a couple of Lush's Christmas edition bubble bars for my housemate, and they do smell divine. But I don't think the Christmassy herbs and spices are something I want my bath to smell like.

What's your favourite bubble bath item??

Love love and Sundaylove!

  2. I too used to take water baths, simply because I didn't know about bath ballistics etc. I haven't had a proper relaxing bath in about a year I think.. I am VERY much a shower person!
