Hi, my name is Ling... #

And I stole this post from Laura! (her blog here)

Never in my life have I been hairless! Or to the Southern hemisphere... I always use the hemisphere thing when I've been made to play "I never..." XD

The one person who can drive me nuts is my father! He can be such a hypocrite! I do love him so though!

High school was a great time for me! I went to an all girls school and I made some amazing friends there. I miss it dearly, when school was just something we had to do.

When I’m nervous rashes break out on me. I have one forming on my torso currently because of stress possibly. Cheer competition this weekend and my Cunningham technique (a contemporary dance style) exam tomorrow...

The last song I listened to was Canned Heat by Jamiroquai! (I spelled his name right without looking! Yay me!)

If I were to get married right now my maid of honour would be Fran :)

My hair is not washed! Well, since Sunday :P (it's currently 1am Wed)

When I was 5 I was taken to Disneyland Paris for my birthday!! It was AWESOME!

Last Christmas I gave you my heart! I also received a bracelet :)

I should be sleeping as I have a practical exam in 8 hours... oh deary me!

The happiest recent event was spending a spontaneous weekend with a best friend and her lovely sister :D

By this time next year I will have an occupation and be earning full-time.

There’s this girl I know that is beautiful. She is you.

I like you when you listen to Capital FM radio with me :)

The world could do without violence.

Most recent thing I’ve bought myself is a red velvet cupcake from The Hummingbird Bakery in South Kensington! Mmm delish!!

Most recent thing someone else bought me is a Green & Black's Butterscotch Milk Chocolate Easter Egg!

My middle name is non-existant!

The animals I would like to see flying besides birds are humans? Oh wait, we already do! (In planes!)

Once, at a bar I worked in, they didn't give me a break. So the next day I took double the time and I got told off for it!

Last night I was reading Breaking Dawn!

There’s this guy I know who is turning 22 today! He has a day full of cheer and dance! Lucky him :)

Tomorrow I am going to go buy some things from the MAC Give Me Liberty of London collection! And then get on a minibus to Telford!

Tonight I am writing this post instead of thinking/panicking about my exam :P

My birthday is soon!

Love love and Linglove!!

Faux Hawk, OOTD, FOTD & NOTD!!

Warning: This post is picture heavy :D xXx

So Wednesday 24th March 2010 was the day the single honours 3rd year BA(Hons) Dance Studies students had to hand in our dissertations by. Man, what a weight lifted off my shoulders! I actually managed to get mine in on Monday, so I had time to relax. We had all decided we would be going out to the university event at a club in a local town :)

I settled on an outfit of purple sequinned hotpants with a plain black tank and a cute black sparkly bow belt! I got quite a few compliments from my friends which is always lovely to hear! Never forget to tell your friends they look gorgeous :D They will often return the favour and it's a great start to the day/night!!

I wore the belt the "wrong" way round so the bow was at the back! The studs at the front totally added to the rock look :) Also I wore my Swarovski moon and star DSK silver necklace which hung just below my collar bone. Finished off the outfit with black Mary-Janes which have a wooden look heel. (Urgh, my legs look white! Its because there was something white in the corner which made the flash glare against the lens and I didn't notice until this morning!!)
Earlier on Wednesday, I knew my hair needed washing but I didn't want to spend time washing it just to get drink spilled on it or rained on etc. I searched "quick up do" in YouTube, and I found various tutorials that could've worked, but to go with the rock chick outfit, I decided on a faux hawk hair do! I thought it was awesome and would go great with my outfit.

I wasn't sure if my hair was too long for this look, but I think it turned out great! I will be doing a video tutorial on this soon :D
It took a lot of hairspray, hair grips and a little bit of teasing too but it was well worth it!

After fixing my hair, I knew I had to do some colourful, sparkly eye make-up to complete my look and add some life! (Not that the purple sparkles didn't do that already :P)
I did a combo of purple smokey eyes with green liner on the bottom and some false lashes (which I'm not wearing in these close-up photos because I took them before I remembered to put on my false lashes!)
To achieve this look, I used:
~ Maybelline Eyecolor Express in 02 Vintage Rose
~ MAC Shadestick in Sharkskin
~ Barry M Dazzle Dust in LED 2 (910)
~ Barry M Fine Glitter Dust in 18 Purple (835)
~ Barry M Kohl Pencil in 1 Black
~ Barry M Intense Eyeliner Pen in 2 Aqua Green
~ Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in 12 Spandex (Green)
~ Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in 15 Dig It! (Black and Gold)
~ Eyeko Mascara
~ Eylure Girls Aloud False Lashes in Kimberly
~ Max Factor Lash Extension Effect
~ E.L.F. Studio Eyebrow Kit in Dark

I kept the cheeks a nice mineralized pink that would give off a subtle flush but nothing too sparkly that would come off as shine in photographs.

I used a coral lipstick (~ Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in 420 Coral Pop) with a coral gloss (The Body Shop Love Gloss Lipgloss in 18 Tropical Pink) which I think really completed the look and I'm very happy with how everything turned out :D
This is my rock chick face!!!!
Products used on mah face:
~ Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in #120 Soft Sand
~ Naked Cosmestics Mineral Powder Foundation in MPF-04
~MAC Mineralize Blush in Daft Pink
~Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Refined
~Barry M Natural Dazzle Bronzing Powder
~E.L.F. Studio High Definition Powder

I took a few more pics toward the end of my night out of my hair just to see how well it was holding up, and to my surprise, it looked almost exactly the same!!
I remember having to replace a few grips though! And I had it sprayed so much with hairspray that there shouldn't have been any way for my hair to fall out, but because its so long and heavy I thought it may have pulled out the grips when I was dancing!
Perfectly in tact!!

All in all, it was a fab-dab-ulous night that was just amaze-balls (this is my new favourite word!). And here I am showing off my nails which leads me right into the next part of my post!
I don't know what it is about blue polish, but it just looks so cute!! I think I'm growing into blues more now than purples :O It might become the new favourite colour! I realised this just as I was typing looking at my nails and seeing that I'm wearing a blue shirt ready for dreamland!
(I don't know what that weird bit on my thumb is!) So I used two of my new OPI polishes and I'm so very happy with them, like I have been with all my OPI purchases :D
The matte (not matte in finish, but matte as in without shimmer) blue is called Suzi Says Feng Shui from the Hong Kong Collection and the blue sparkles are from the Alice in Wonderland Collection named Absolutely Alice.

Of course, it's topped off with a nice healthy coat of 17's Double Gloss Top Coat from their Nail Xtras range! This makes my nails shine as though covered in lip gloss and smooth to touch!!

If you want to check out my other OPI polishes, I filmed my collection today!

Do you think I rocked the look??

Love love and bluelove!!

Review: Lush - French Kiss Bubble Bar

Why, hallo thar. Shall we get stuck in??

So this is Lush's French Kiss Bubble Bar (site link here!) and doesn't it look amazing?? Unfortunately, that's kind of where the amaze-ness ends for me...

Don't get me wrong, I am such a big lavender fan. I absolutely love almost everything lavender scented and so naturally, this should've been an easy bubble bar to repurchase. This is not the case :( Sadly, the lavender scent of this product does not fit any lavender scent I've ever smelled. Not even that 'fake' lavender smell that people usually dispise. Even with that little sprig of real lavender, it doesn't hit the right spot for me.

I opted to have a bubble bath today whilst I'm at home but also because of my giant headache. I thought a nice relaxing lavender scented bath would swallow my aches and pains and let me sleep in peace tonight. I tried to do the same method I use when bathing with a bubble bar: crumble up about a half palm-size chunk into an empty tub and then turn on the tap to induce the bubble creation! Do you want to know what happened??

I do love the shape of this bubble bar and its shaped like those little chocolate Hershey's Kisses which is very cute. I had previously used the tip in a bath a while ago. I do remember it being quite difficult to break off but I thought it would be okay today. Apparently not! I had to really apply pressure to force the bar to break. I used half of the bottom chunk I had left and the water wasn't really changing a pretty colour so I thought I'd just chuck it all in since the smell wasn't particularly appealing to me. I ended up holding a few big chunks under the tap directly to dissolve it which is not great for the back if your hunched over! (It may have been because it had been sitting in my drawer for quite some time now... at least 6 months but probably more! However my The Comforter hasn't been difficult to break up and I got them at the same time.)

I have to give it credit for the bubbles though! There was a lot and so fluffy and light!! I did get a silky feeling to my skin in the water, but since I've left the tub my skin has reverted to a dry top layer. I think its safe to say there are no moisturising properties with this one.

This product is currently on the Lush website at £3.85 per bar. I think that's a little on the expensive side for Lush and I definately won't be repurchasing. (According to the picture above they're $8.95! Way to much I think!!) I'll stick to The Comforter which has a much better scent, better colouring and still manages to give me amazing bubbles with only a little chunk crumbled in!

Have you ever tried this??
What are your thoughts?

Love love and Lushlove!

Wearing an ugly jumper... and ROCKING it!!!

So I know this jumper is quite "in style" at the moment, I still find it ugly :P Used to be my mother's and I remember her wearing it.

But she passed it down to me and it's been sat in my wardrobe in uni for a month now. I decided to wear it today as all I had was Lighting class and it's rather warm :)

I wore my new coral lip gloss from The Body Shop (Love Gloss in 18 Tropical Pink) some blue pencil eyeliner on the lower lash line and these two subtle differences gave me great confidence :D

This doorway of my room is great for shooting photos :D
So I rocked out with a little bit of a photo session today :P
You can't tell so much (because my hair is covering it in all photos), but it is a polo neck jumper.
I do really like the sleeves which are really big and poufy in the upper arms and shrink down to a tight cuff. (A problem is that you can't roll up the sleeves which I love to do)
I'm just wearing a yellow tank top underneath which is laced at the top and bottom.
And some Nike tracksuit bottoms.
On the outside left ankle, there's a line that read: Just do it, Just dance
I think that was one of the reasons why I had to buy them!
Haha! Fun times :D I think they turned out alright!!

What do you think of my rocking my ugly jumper?!
What do you think of patterned jumpers like these? Style trend or fashion frenzy??

Love love and uglylove!!

Urban Decay - Alice Palette!

I know I should have blogged about this forever ago, but as I said busy times for me :(

Anyway, I thought I'd share my photos with you. It's nothing special but you can request looks with the colours if you like!!

The shadows are all renamed replicas from the two previous Books of Shadows so you can purchase the shadows not in this Alice packaging.

It's adorable though!

As of now, I still have yet to touch them, even swatch them!! Haha!!
(above is with flash, below without)

I've never owned any UD shadows before and I'm very excited to finally have them :)

Anyway, do you have this palette?? What are you favourite shades?

Love love and Alicelove!

The Body Shop Event - Round 3

Hihi!! Another post today?? I'm on a rollllllllll! Another shorter one coming up today too :P
Oh and I do have formspring! Click here :)

Another event that I recently (two weeks ago) went to was for The Body Shop. This post will also be long and contain photos :P

The event was held in this very posh hotel called The Westbury hotel. It was gorgeous! I made a little "TwinkleTalk" vlog about it which shall be inserted here:

Anyway, so I've got a few pictures to show ya :)

This contains brazil nuts!
The beautiful bloggers :)
Pretty, new shimmer cubes!
Got my hands pampered!
The goody bag!! Very cute :)
and the goodies :P

A few of the girls and I went to Westfield afterwards. I managed to nab a few bits from Inglot and Lush.

A gorgeous friend of mine (shortiee31) got me a few bits from Lush during the valentine's limited edition time. I wasn't able to get to a store myself, so she kindly got me two Magic Mushroom Bubble Bars and the Bubblegum Lip Scrub.
awee, she's so sweet!
Smells just like snowfairy :D

Rebecca (pandadoesmakeup) had the original version/packaging in her bad so I got a picture of two together!
(haha, yeah that's my cheesy grin for ya!)
