Fish scales NOTD

Currently chowing down on blueberries... 

I attempted these fish scale nails as I saw them done well and wanted to try myself. Unfortunately, they didn't turn out as great as I'd hope. 

Nevertheless, here are some pictures!

I applied a couple of coats of No 7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Poolside Blue 310, then put a single layer of OPI Catch Me in Your Net.

Then after applying Revlon Nail Enamel in 050 White On White with a toothpick to create the scales effect, I added on another two layers of OPI Catch Me in Your Net. It does look a little like snake skin... 

I think this technique (toothpick and nail polish) would be great to do giraffe spots too :)

Sorry this is so late... I planned to write it up this morning but I woke up late and had to rush to get to work :/ This is what happens when the only job you can get needs you to work weekends... *sigh*

And I need to kick my starbucks habit... two a week or more is just not good for the pocket!

Started off trying to be healthy with blueberries & yogurt.

Minimal makeup is a touch of foundation and mascara

A beautiful gift - did not want to open but it's so great inside!

Microwave popcorn! (Normally I get butter but I wanted sweet)

Dark Purple French Manicure NOTD

It's getting a bit summery - the winds have died down, the sun is beaming and the skies are blue!

But just before the spring/summer seasons fully descend, I thought I'd get in a dark manicure.

Purple is probably the colour of nail polish I own the most of (except maybe blue...) and I have been favouring the lighter, pastel lilac shades lately. 

Two coats of O.P.I. Siberian Nights to get a deep opaque colour and then a quick swipe of O.P.I. It's MY Year to add a shimmery tip. A single coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat seals in the glossiness and prevents chipping until I feel the need to change colours again ;)

What's your favourite dark shade of polish??

Blue & White Polkadots NOTD

I wanted a polkadot nail design with a twist. I actually getting a bit fed up of glitter polish... 

Don't get me wrong, glitter is amazing, it's just a PAIN to get off!

So instead of adding sparkle, I've decided to use some stick on decals to add a subtle difference.

I used two coats of O.P.I. Suzi Says Feng Shui and then added the dragonfly and flower decals. Then I added the white spots using a dotting tool with Revlon Nail Enamel in 050 White On White. To seal it all in, I layered a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Mind the nail that got a bit messed up after I applied the top coat :(

Look at the pretty Tiffany ring though!!
