Let the dull be dull - Haul & OOTD

I saw this on the floor outside Leicester Square Station when I was waiting for some friends on Thursday. I took a picture as I quite liked the words.

I think it's quite fitting for my outfit :)

Roshi Floral Dress bought from The Clothes Show Live
White Long-Sleeved Top from H&M
Black Tights from New Look (they are a heavy duty denier, since I get cold easily)

Haha, please ignore my stupid faces :P

The cream lace is beaded with fake plastic pearls but I thought it needed a proper looking at :)

This is very attention grabbing and therefore no necklace is needed!
(I forgot to put earrings in though, and if you're wondering what's in my hair, its a little bow!)

Took a trip to Sally's on Shaftesbury Avenue and grabbed a set of the O.P.I. Katy Perry Mini Nail Lacquers collection.

(This is with flash!)
The colours are:
Pearlescent green - Not Like the Movies
Pink glitter - Teenage Dream
Blue glitter - Last Friday Night
Deep ruby red - The One That Got Away

(This is without flash)
They're so teeny and cute and fit into my little hands!
I'm so excited to play with these gems :P

I picked up this hair teasing brush too :) Will be great for future tutorial!

Stopped by Selfridges to take a peak at the new MAC Wonder Woman collection and so obviously there were some artists body painting a man. Standard, right?

Also, found a GIANT Hello Kitty in M&S! Those are kiddie's clothes next to it but it's still pretty humongous!

Hope you like!

Cute Flower Nail Art NOTD

Hi lovelies!

I have another cutesy little nail art tutorial for you today :)

Step 1: Paint your nails.
I choose two colours for the background, but you don't have to. One or two colours won't distract from the flower detail.

Step 2: Layer up the background colours.
I choose to add white on the tips as it is the second background colour and it hints at a French manicure look.

Step 3: Pick your flower colour.
The flowers are made from dots so to do this, I placed a few drops of my chosen polish onto the back of a facemask packet. (You can just use foil or paper, but that is what I had handy :P).

Step 4: Place the first dot.
The dots form the petals of the flower, so make sure you keep in mind where you want to place the flowers on the nail.

Step 5: Place the second dot.
Touch the dots together to give it the flower a symmetrical look.

Step 6: Place the third dot.
(This is a running theme... ) Again, touch the dot to the previous dot but forming a circle.

Step 7: Place the fourth dot.
This forms the fourth petal of the flower.

Step 8: Finish the last petal with a fifth dot.
This finishes off the flower petals.

Step 9: Fill in the centre with a final dot.
This is not a necessity but will help if the petals are spread far apart.

Step 10: Add embellishment with another three dots.
(I've only shown the first dot here)

Step 11: Repeat on all chosen nails.
Because I'm using two colours for the flowers, I've only used the blue on some of my nails.

Step 12: Pick your next colour and repeat the previous steps to create more flowers.
I've chosen a pink for flowers on the rest of the nails and the empty spaces I left.

Step 13: Leave to dry.
This is quite an important step, as the layering of the polish will take a while to set.

Step 14: Add the flower centres.
For this part, I used my white Ingot nail art pen to dot the centre of the flowers with white polish but you can repeat the dot method above instead.

Hope you like these simple little flowers!

No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara Review

For beautiful curl and volume.

Hey there!

So this gem popped up and

The brush:
This little lilac gem (yes it is lilac underneath) has very thin stiff bristles which are great for coating and separating the lashes. I've never tried an actual curved mascara until now, and I've always been slightly sceptical of how they work as everyone's eye shapes are different and therefore how can one brush fit all? I guess that's why there are so many different mascaras out there! However, this one seems to work for me rather well. I like the curve in the brush and I can twist the brush around to get different angles to make sure I coat every hair!

The formula:
Essentially a black liquid. It is on the thicker side, but its not dry. I've had no crumble, but maybe a slight smudge after running in the rain. This I don't mind however as it is not a waterproof mascara and doesn't melt off during a dry day. I'm not quite sure how good it is at holding a curl though. Lucky for me, my lashes have a natural curl and I find I don't need to use a eyelash curler. Even with the thickest gloopiest, most viscous formula, my lashes seem to hold that curl (except on the inner corners were my lashes go in XD) .

The removal:
This formula is easily removed, but I've only been using Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish lately which just removes all make up, even the blackest waterproof mascara. However, knowing that a little rain water can pull off this liquid, I doubt you will have any trouble taking this off, so no excuse for panda eyes!

So now here's some before and after pictures :)
(I'm wearing a touch of brown eyeshadow!)

Before (naked lashes) without flash

After, coated with two layers of the mascara without flash

Before (naked lashes) with flash

After, with two coats of mascara with flash

Overall, I have been using this mascara every day now and I love it! I think it works really well with everyday make up and is easy to use :)

Don't forget to check out the No7 Facebook page!

Have you tried this mascara? I would love to hear your thoughts!

POTW & Life Update

Hello there!

I thought I'd just remind all of you on here that I make YouTube videos too and that every week I make a Product of the Week video where I pick a product that I'm really loving at that time and give you the low down on it!

This weeks is the Night Treatment Gel from the Boots Tea Tree + Witch Hazel range.

You can find the product on the Boots website here!

These are just a few piccies from my week if you want to see what I've been up to :P

They changed the Trocadero signs!
They used to be green (for years) but I do like the colourful change they made :)

I was in London with my parents when my dad pointed out someone's put some foamy stuff (his guess was washing up liquid) in the Four Horses of the Apocalypse fountain! Bubbles galore :P

I had lunch with my parents in China Town yesterday. The lanterns are still up from Chinese New Year (well half of them are, they were selling the other half) so I thought I'd do a cheeky heel stretch since it still looks pretty!

It was my housemate's birthday was Friday, so my other housemate and I baked her a scrummy chocolate mud cake, complete with chocolate ganache!

Took a wander to the Thames river, and even in the chilling breeze, it's still so beautiful, don'tcha think?

Cute Penguin Nail Art NOTD

Hi Starlings!!

I've got a cutie little treat for you today!

These adorable penguins are fun and so here is my step-by-step guide on how to create this happy feet (or hands!).

Step 1: Paint your nails
I chose all different colours, but you can you choose just one colour for all nails. If you want to make them look more realistic, you can start with a black polish.

Step 2: Draw the white outline to the penguin breast.
I used my white Inglot nail art pen to do this, but if you have a steady hand, you can just paint it on with a normal white nail polish, or nail art brush.

Step 3: Fill in the penguin breast with a plain white nail polish.
Do this to all your nails. For some funky penguins, you can use different colours for this part.

Like so!

Step 4: Add the penguins' eyes.
I used my black Inglot nail art pen to do this step but if you don't have nail art pens, you can use a cocktail stick (or any object with a point) to dot the eyes in place.

Step 5: Add on the little noses.
I just used the tip of a normal brush to do these. Not very perfect, but just a touch with the brush makes a wonderful nose!

Step 6: Draw on the feet.
Again, I used my black Inglot nail art pen but it doesn't have to be black. Yellow or orange would work very well too.

You can end here, which is what the picture at the beginning of this post shows, but I thought I'd include one extra step for an added twinkle :P

Step 7: Add a touch of gold glitter polish to the noses!

And that's it!
