Fed up of blemishes... Project Good Skin!!

Last night on Twitter I was yet again, complaining about my skin. I am fed up of constant blemishes and never feeling confident in my skin without slathering foundation and concealer over my face. I was determined to sort it and so I went out to Kingston today with a friend to do a bit of shopping, have lunch and see if there's anyway I can sort this out!!!

We had lunch first, because we (Cat and I) were both really hungry. We ate at a little diner place called Frank B's Diner. It was really cute! Both of us ordered ribs, but I had mine with fries, coleslaw and a vanilla ice cream shake whereas Cat just had hers with chips and Dr. Pepper.

Then we headed off to the make-up counters in the local department store (Bentalls) where we stopped by Clinique to check out the skin care. I have been told by many that Clinique can often be really harsh but I've also heard that its worked wonders for other people. I thought I'd have a 10 minute consultation and try the 3 step system to see if it would work for me. Clinique has always been something I was unsure about but if the system doesn't work for me, then I all I've lost is a few weeks and £30.

I was given the anti-blemish solutions 3-step system containing a 50ml cleansing foam, 100ml clarifying lotion and 30ml clearing moisturizer. This is supposed to last me 6-7 weeks, with a twice daily use.

Three simple steps that effectively work together to treat blemishes and help prevent future breakouts. Start seeing visible results within days. After blemishes clear, continue using for prevention care. Skin stays soft, smooth and clear with continuous use. Just 3 products, 3 minutes, twice a day.

Step 1: Cleansing Foam
Mild cleansing foam helps clear and prevent blemishes. Removes dirt and excess oil. Unclogs pores.
Step2: Clarifying Lotion
Gentle exfoliating formula exfoliates to clear dead surface cells and reduces excess oil that can lead to breakouts. Unclog pores.
Step 3: Clearing Moisturizer (Oil-free)
Powerful blemish fighting ingredients help treat existing blemishes and prevent future breakouts. Lightweight formula creates an invisible, breathable barrier against blemish-causing agents.
I have made an appointment to go back in two weeks time to check my progress with the system and to see if it has improved my skin. Oh just one other thing, the consultant told me I have to use cotton balls with the Clarifying Lotion because cotton pads are too rough for the skin, so I had to pick up some of those too.

I also went to New Look and bought two belts and a cardigan which is very slouchy ^^

Also, I got some cute black boot slippers from Primark!!

Just a little FOTD/LOTD ^^ I've named it "Da Honey Force" because I used Soft Force, Honey Lust and Da Bling eyeshadows from MAC :D

Who else is on Project Good Skin and how have you found the Clinique 3-step system??

Love love and skinlove!

  1. Tried it and my skin accepted it but the toner is wayyy too strong - my eyes water when I wipe my face with it! Worked well but I felt as if I was loading chemicals onto my face so I finished up my trial pack and didn't go near it again!

  4. Pretty eyeshadow look! :) Can you do a tutorial? I love pinks and golds together. Hope the system works for you! I always use body shop products because they are generally milder and without to many chemicals.

  5. the best way would be going to a dermatologist to see what's best for your skin type. some of these products have to be used continuously and if stopped, would bring back breakouts, etc. i've gotten a face peel and microdermabrasion taken with some pills (i forgot what it was called). i didn't actually finish my session but it did clear up my face a LOT. for now, im just using the porridge soap from lush to wash my face and st ives face moisturizer and i haven't had that much of a problem with my face. i hope this helps.

  6. Awww I know what you mean, I'm trying to get my skin better but I keep failing >.< I tried to take the natural rememdy tablets for acne from boots but I it only works when I take it 3 times a day and that's just too much for me 'cause I can never remember! It's such a bugger because if you take it 3 times a day it will also not last as long, about 3 weeks? Uh so I gave up on that.

I have tried the Clinique's 3-Step thing but that wasn't for the blemishes. I think it was just a daily care one and I did not like it at all >.< The bar soap was just weird, the toner was too strong for me, and the moisturiser was just like any moisturiser. It just didn't work out for me >.< But I really hope it does for you! <333

  7. Wow, I love those slippers, may be visiting Primark very soon just to get those :)

I tried Clinique a few years ago and really liked the gentle exfoliating action of step no 2, however I had some left over and used it recently and it definitely felt very drying on the skin and I had to moisturise straight away. The dramatically different gel is great though x

  8. I love your haul!

I've used up at least five of the Anti-Blemish Solutions Post Blemish Formula from Clinique but my acne scars didn't fade at all :(
